So..general advice about what its like coming out with a mountain bike club....
You need a little bit of fitness to be able to come out on a club ride, but once out, we always go along at the speed of the slowest, so don't worry about being too slow. You'll have a great time..promise...as we are a friendly bunch of lads. There's a great social side to our little club too. All rides usually end at a pub, although partaking in a drink isn't obligatory.
Club rides are every Thursday evening and some weekends. The Thursday rides are either 'home' or 'away' rides. We will try to alternate between home and away rides each week.
Home rides: this is a local ride that can be ridden from the meeting point without needing car transport. Just turn up at the White Bear, Barrowford at 7pm and ride!
You will normally need at least a red rear light and ideally a bright front light....even in summer.
Away Rides: These are rides where we will meet up and then drive to the ride location to do the ride. This enables us to do some great rides within a 30 minute drive. The meeting point would normally be White Bear, Barrowford at 7pm. If you do not have transport, its a good idea to try and organise a lift with someone else before the ride.

Club members and friends had a pleasant evening last night in the Cottontree Inn with the usual mix of competitions and laughs followed by a generous supper and all washed down by the odd drink. Jacko and myself acquitted ourselves admirably in organising this years event.
Thanks go to Wicked cycles for help with the many prizes.
A charity raffle raise £48 for Pendleside hospice.
Hayley and Ellen were volunteered to organise next years event. Once sobered up maybe this decision should be revisited and others seconded to the task
